Pink's 'Beautiful Trauma' Opens at No. 1 on Australia's Albums Chart

Pink rules Australia’s albums chart this week with Beautiful Trauma(RCA/Sony), her fifth No. 1 in these parts,
while post Malone’s"Rockstar” (Republic/Universal) featuring  21 Savage enters a fourth consecutive week at the summit of the national singles survey.
With Beautiful Trauma,Pink has a global hit. The album, her first in five years, opened at No. 1 in the U.S. with a bigger-than-expected 408,000 equivalent album units for 2017's largest week for an album by a woman.

It's also new at No. 1 in the U.K..In Australia, Pink seems to smash records at will. She previously topped the ARIA Albums Chart with I'm Not Dead(October 2006), Funhouse(November 2008),Greatest Hits...So Far!!!(November 2010) and The Truth About Love(November 2012). All told, she has shifted 3.6 million units with her Australian concert DVD sales in excess of 1.16 million units, according to Sony Music.
Beautiful Trauma opens with double platinum certification. Expect the album to settle in for a long stay in the chart. Tickets went on sale last Friday for her2018 arena tour of Australia, which has grown to 30 dates. The last time she set out on the road Down Under was her 2013The Truth About Love tour, a sold-out 46show trek which saw Pink perform to more than 600,000 fans, a record for a solo female artist. Beautiful Trauma opens ahead of a pair of former chart-toppers,Ed Sheeran’s five-times platinum Divide(Warner) and Triple J's various artists compilation Like A Version 13(ABC/UMA),
whileJessica Mauboy’s The Secret Daughter Season Two (Songs From The Original 7 Seriesvia Sony) slips 2-4 and Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile’s critically acclaimed collaborative set Lotta Sea Lice opens at No. 5.
There are top 20 debuts this week for Beck(Colors at No. 14 via Capitol/EMI),Robert Plant(Carry Fire at No. 16 via NONE/Warner) and St Vincent(Mass eduction at No. 19 via Caroline/UMA). The follow-up to Lullaby And... The Ceaseless Roar(which peaked at No. 22 in September 2014),Carry Fire is Plant’s 12th post-Led Zeppelin LP to crack the ARIA top 50.
Meanwhile, new releases from Gucci Mane(Mr. Davisvia Atlantic/Warner) and Pink Floyd’sDavid Gilmour (Live At Pompeiiat No. 50 via Columbia/Sony) sneak into the chart. Camila Cabellois denied top spot once more with “Havana” (Epic/Sony) featuring Young Thug.
In third place, improving one position, is Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” (Atlantic/Warner), which becomes the English singer-songwriters’ eighth top three single on the Australian chart.
The top five is completed by Macklemore’s “Glorious” (ADA/Warner) featuring Skylar Grey,and Pink’s “What About Us.” Pink also scores the week’s highest debut for a single, with her Eminem-featured track "Revenge" which bows at No. 21 and is one of the U.S. pop star’s four tracks on the current tally.
